Exclamation blazer tranny problems! help!

i am stuck on a problem i am having with my transmission and wondering if you could lead me in the right direction or tell me what to do to fix it. i have a 1995 chevy blazer 4.3l with the 4l60e. heres a little info on the trans, the only thing i have done to it is a b&m shift kit. and im hopeing i didnt mess somthing up when i installed it.

So the problem is that when i am at a dead stop like a stop light, and i punch the gas, the trans will start off in first gear but almost imediately upshift to second? is there anything that i could have done wrong with the shift kit to cause this? it will only do it when i am hard on the throttle off the line. if i am easy on the throttle from a dead stop it shifts normaly.

also another problem i am having is that it seems when the transmission gets hot/running temp it will not go into overdrive. so i am stuck going down the highway at 65mph with the engine reving about 3000rpm. i have to stop, shut the truck off and restart it, then it will go into overdrive but will kick back out of overdrive again eventualy. it does not do this when the transmission is cold or not up to full running temp tho. any help is very appreciated!

i have not ran a pressure test, as i do not have the tester to do it. i just got a CEL last night, i pulled the codes and got a P0122 and a P1122, i have replaced the tps sensor, but the problem still pursists. im thinking maybe replace all the solenoids in the valve body and a new spacer plate and check balls. would this be the right thing to do? im just stuck.. my last resort is to give in and take it to a tranny shop.

thanks for any help in advanced!

nick

If the trans was running fine before you installed the shift kit, I would say that you have an installation error. Was there anything in the pan when 1st removed it?
I have never installed a B+M kit, so I am not able to advise what you may have done wrong, if anything. You may want to call B+M'* tech department. You may just have a misplaced or lost check ball.

Just because you set a TPS code does not mean that5 the TPS is bad. Make sure that the TPS has a good ground, has 5 volts going to it and the voltage goes from .5 @ closed throttle to 4.5 @ full throttle. The TPS code MAY inhibit 4th gear, but I'm not sure.

If you have 1st and 2nd gear, then your solenoids are OK.

Did the no 4th problem happen before the shift kit?

Get your TPS fixed before looking in the tranny. A lot of times codes like that will cause a default 3rd gear.
