More on parts...$190
Intake gaskets
water pump gaskets
Cap n Rotor/wireset
Sparkplugs

Spent so far...
Engine $350
Parts $490 which I still need another valve cover gasket(why doesn't Felpro just include the other gasket anyway in the kit????) ...
still need to get oil pan gasket, oil, oil filter and whatever other small things.

$840. Not too bad when many forums say your gonna spend $1500-$2500. One guy said he spent over $30,000 on his swap. I call BS on that one if he was only talking about the swap itself.

tried that still crap, always inconsistent running, lean and rich, misfires and codes. mine runs great with the mpfi conversion. why they didnt put normal injectors on it i have no idea, lots of people cussing them out. i put 300 thousand miles on the ones in my grand prix. didnt even run injector cleaner. they started using the good ones in the 80'* who ever sat there and thought those stupid poppets would be a good idea should be shot.

I couldn't agree more. And why were they still using dizzy'* on these engines when the 5.3'* were dizzy'less engines.

Finally had a chance to read this. Looks like its going to be a fun project, Mike! Should be worth it when its done for the sound of the V8 alone

Yes Travis, the sound of the V8 alone is worth it.

Finally got an email from the store, my headers and mounts will be here tomorrow.
