Default Master cylinder replacement

I need to replace my master cylinder 4 wheel abs, I've watched some video'* on youtube and they bench bled the master cylinder before installation. Once it was installed, they had someone push the brake peddle and they cracked each line connected to the master cylinder to bleed the air. The car was then put back in service and the brakes worked fine. I've read elsewhere that when the master cylinder is changed, you need to have the dealer bleed the brakes. Can I do it like the youtube video and use my power bleeder to bleed the brakes at the caliper? 05 impala ss

The real key to this is, was air introduced into the system ?

By that I mean was there a loss of fluid in the the M/C, such as the level got so low, that air was pumped into the system?

I have had pretty good luck, when this happens, by pulling a vac, at each bleeder, with my mighty vac hand pump....it has an external cup, that allows the brake fluid to be pulled through the system, without letting air back in during pumping.....key is to keep the M/C full during this...

However, if there was no such fluid loss, then yes, just bench bleed the M/C, install the M/C....then bleed the lines at the M/C........

Also don't pump the brake pedal, just hold a steady pressure....open a connection, your foot will go to the floor....keep it there....when the connection re-tightened, then let the pedal back up.....then push down and hold, and repeat......
