Default 2004 Impala transmission.

Got a 04 Impala in the shop, wont move on it'* own. I dropped the transmission pan. Ya, I think I'm going to stop right here and wait for the customer to tell me what he wants to do.

That'* where I stopped. I don't think it'* worth the effort. The car is in really bad shape.

Dan, some of us are trying to eat over here! Can't you move this to the Red Light District?

I think I would need to fill it with mechanic in a can, and even then it wont work. He said move forward with the rebuild. Going to be interesting to see what I find. My guess, the torque converter, oil pump shaft, and input shaft are stripped.

At that point, don't you have to consider the cost of rebuilding against the cost of a new/used with/without a warranty?

I ran both past him, he wants it rebuilt. Fix it so he can sell it. It'* worth scrap to me. I looked it over just in case he wanted to part it out. Not one panel on that car is without a dent.
