Default 2001 Chevy Express van with crank sensor / cam sensor correlation problems

I'm working on a 2001 chevy express van with a V8 5.7 L engine. The original engine had problems with cylinder # 3 and I found another '98 model V8 5.7 L engine that was running, low mileage and in great shape so I put it into the van. Now I'm having an issue with the a check engine light code "P1345"; it is a crank sensor / cam sensor correlation code. I purchased and installed a new distributor and the issue remained, so I installed a new crank sensor...to no avail, the problem is still there. Prior to installing the new crank sensor, the check engine light would go off periodically. Since I installed the crank sensor, it has remained on constant...for about 3 weeks now. Any suggestions?

You need to get access to a scantool or laptop that can read live data or take it to the dealer and they can fix it.
Here is a good video on the explanation of this and how its actually done.

You need a scan tool. The computer is very picky. Your distributor is out of spec. It needs to be moved a little. I had the issue after my engine rebuild.

Thank you gentlemen, you were right on the money. My buddy and I set the cam retard to 0 deg and that did resolve the issue. Now on to the next challenge... my suburban and the airbag code...apparently the little black box is out.

Please start a new thread about the suburban'* airbag issue. It will prevent confusion. Thank you.
