On my way home from picking up my daughter from school the brake pedal got real soft and the warning light came on on the dash. Found this!

Almost a 1/4 million miles on the original rear brakes I guess I can't complain.

Yeah it spent most of its life in Idaho but I don't think they salt the roads there. She is in pretty good shape for being a 91. What do you guys get out of your daily drivers before the rust takes over? 10 years?

My 97 started showing her ugliness last year I think. Brake lines are around the corner, I'm just waiting for that 'pop'.

My 97 Pk Ave lost all the brakes suddenly at once Feb 2nd 2014.
And on page 2 is notice about ensuring your e-brake is adjusted properly, should ur main brakes fail completely like mine did!

My 2000 is in very good condition for this area, the cab corners are just starting to rust through and everything else appears solid. I've done a lot of grinding and under body coating since I got it to hopefully slow down the inevitable.

my 07 monte was garage kept and maintained very well, to the point it seemed like it was a second car for the previous owner, i had it undercaoted when i got it and the metal lines under it already had a whole in it. the 03 monte i had before that i didnt under coat i just washed it once a week was rusting out all over, all the wheel wells had spots starting in the paint from being rusted out from the inside etc...

Well the rear shoes were worn down to the rivets so the old truck got new shoes, wheel cylinders and a hardware kit.
