Default 97 Camaro Shutting down religously

Maybe someoen can here can help me out.

I have a 97 Camaro RS, V6, Auto, that shuts down 5-6seconds after ignition as if the fuel pump is just shutting off. This happens quite often and is unpredictable to the point I am afraid to even take it to the car wash, because it might not start back up.

Any thoughts?

if you have the type of key with the resistor try cleaning the contacts with alcohol on a swab or brake cleaner
