New 1993 Cadillac STS. :)
Hello. I'm from the Buick Forum. Wanted to let you know my best friend got a steal of a deal on Craigslist! He bought a 1993 STS with 89k on it for $2500. It'* that really nice pearl white color with tan interior.
I'm almost jealous! I'm trying to get him to sign up on here so he can start asking questions. Car was bought by a lady, and she drove it arouond for a few years, decided she didn't like it and stuck it in her barn somewhere in NM. It stayed on blocks most of it'* life. When she passed away last year it was willed to her son. He didn't want it so he sold it.
No rips, no dirt anywhere, there'* a few dents here and there and a minor dent in the front of the hood by the passengers side headlight.
I'm also learning to speak "Cadillac" as well. Check engine light hasn't went out since he got the car, The speedo didn't work and it would shift rough. That was taken care of by a trans flush and a new sensor put in.
Now he will turn right and the traction control will disable with a code T0039. My guess is that one of the speed sensors for the wheels is dirty or just needs to be replaced. It'* just a guess since my Buick doesn't have ABS.
All in all it'* a welcomed edition to our "family" and I'm really hoping to learn this car to help him get it fixed up (there'* just the minor stuff). A nice wash n wax and I bet it will look brand new!
I'll make sure to tell him once he gets signed up to comment on this thread so he can introduce himself to you guys. He'll have tons of questions. basically this is his dream car.
Thanks for your time.

i hope he has good luck but thats not normally how caddies go. they are unique and complicated so that combination paired with designing new tech and not really reliable tech you've got a car thats always going to be a problem. and not many know how to work on them.

His year of car, all of the websites said to ground a wire next to the electric antenna. The year after his car (94) said to pull back the carpet by the truck release and ground that wire, which I did.
The car'* trans was WAY over filled when he bought it. The tech we took the car to said he drained 9.5 quarts out. It should have only had 5 quarts max. After the trans was flushed it shifted fine.
Now we think one of the VSS sensors is either going bad or dirty. He makes a left hand turn onto one of the streets and it pops up the code right away, then it disables to traction control. Yet when I drive it, I can't get it to do that. I think it just needs TLC. LOL

The car was only touched by our tech. Before that the lady took it in for pretty much anything out of the ordinary. If there was a squeak it went in. Tires are all the same brand, pressure, and size.
