3800 gen 1 to gen 2 swap ?
hi all. i just purchased a 98 park ave. engine blown, i also came across a 91 park with good engine i am parting out. can i use the gen 1 short block?? whats the difference? cam crank sensor ?? open to ideas... thanks to all

thanks, after further investigation, i sorta realized that. also i figured there are alot of much smarter wrenches out there (before me) that would have figured this out! i did purchase a nice used 3800 gen 2 this weekend, any advice on the plenum issues??
ok so i guess i have a good Gen 1 3800 for sale now if anyone needs it!!

Plug the coolant ports.
If you are nearby a scrapyard, tear the engine completely down, and turn it in. You will get more if its seperated. Aluminum, steel etc.
