Default Replacing battery

So, since I am taking care of my late dads car now I decided to change the battery. Its the original AC Delco. I can get the rear seat out quickly.
I like Interstate and they have the proper one or should I bite the bullet and get the AC DELCO?

It is hard to find a non OEM replacement for the under the rear seat mounted batteries. The under the rear seat mounted batteries require a special vent. Last time I checked, only GM carried them (dealer item).

Checked Interstate'* web-site, they do carry a battery for under the rear seat (Bonneville), it is :30 Month
Free Replacement
Six Year
Performance Warranty
840 CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)
Part # MTP-79

Interstate lists $160 for the battery, same cost as the GM dealer. I am not sure how readily available it would be at Interstate. For me, I would go with the OEM from a GM dealer.

Im not sure either. Ill call in the morning. NAPA has one as well. At Autozone the one they call for looks little like whats in the car. It may be best just to get the GM one. I can tell you this the battery in the car is the cleanest 9 year old battery I have seen.

Advance, Auto Zone, and O'Reilly all carry the under seat battery. Cheaper than $160 too.

interstate batteries are at least 50% more powerful and last 2-3 times as long as the delco and parts store batteries worth the extra to me.

well i guess it doesnt matter if you are selling it. i feel bad if i dont get 2 to 300k out of a car before i sell it and id rather buy one better battery than 2-3 lesser performing ones

Interstate Battery does NOT make batteries. They are made by Johnson Controls for them. This is a list of who makes what.
Battery Manufacturers and Brand Names List

Just came from Oreilly, their battery is on sale plus a $25 Oreilly gift card.

The Oreilly battery has worked great in my car and has a good warranty. Well worth it
