Default 1994 Buick Park Ave. weird engine noise

The other day I started my car, and it started making this weird noise. Kinda like a scraping. I'm thinking (hoping) its one of the pulleys/bearings. It only happens during acceleration. Doesn't matter if its in Park, Drive, Neutral, or Reverse. So I'm pretty sure its not the tranny (fluid is still bright red too). Any ideas?

Clutch on the AC compressor. Turn on the AC and I bet it goes away.

You can run it, wont hurt anything. What'* happening is your clutch is rubbing metal on metal. When your using AC it no longer rubs because it'* all spinning.

It'* a pain, easy as all heck on the bench, but in the car, it'* a pain. Taking it out will discharge the pressure and then the AC needs to be recharged.

Glad we solved it. I listened to that video through headphones… what a mistake.

Anyway, refrigerant is very toxic. I recommend getting the system depressurized by a professional shop. You can refill it yourself using any of those recharge kits.
