Paul... need a little more info here.

Do you have factory power locks and are you against having an aftermarket system added? The Regal has the RFA module behind the cluster. I think they probably prewired most of the cars and that you'd be able to get one from another car like you mentiion. I'm not 100% that the connector etc would be there.

If you toss the module number in this thread, it'* very possible the junkyard guys can find you one for $10-$20. The RFA is the remote function actuator, aka the little black box that connects in and makes it all happen.

This box plugs in on your car right behind the instrument cluster. It takes about 10 minutes to get to it. If the connector is there, I don't see why it would be a hardship to put a $10 box in and add a factory remote to have the factory look and ability.

I'd skip the C batteries personally and add an aftermarket version instead. For what it'* worth I recently installed a starter on my Regal and can hand you the lock/unlock wires on the Body Control Module that would be located under the dash by the drivers door.

Bob...where are you located? If you are near anyone one of us...this is a project, I'd like to see us take on.

Do me another favor.. toss me your vin# in a pm. I know a dealership parts counter guy. He'* amazing at finding parts numbers and always willing to share them.

I'm new here and not well versed in Buick'*, so maybe I'm a bit naive on some of this, but...

Why not just install a basic keyless entry system? A decent Audiovox unit is $20 with 2 fobs. It'* 4 wires for basic functionality (+12v, ground, red/black for lock, orange/black for unlock, both in the drivers kick or at the BCM). 7 wires if you want horn, lights and trunk (horn is black at the steering column, lights are light blue at the headlight switch, trunk release is brown at the BCM).

It shouldn't take any more than an hour, maybe two if you've never pulled trim pieces off before.
