Hi All; I Have a 96 Park Avenue 3800 Series II ,and when its running the purge valve/solenoid is clicking, i never noticed it before so is that normal or something i should replace?? Thanks in Advance for any help. Also GLAD to be here, NICE WEBSITE!!
Thanks for the reply, but mine clicks all the time when engine is running.Maybe i have a bad temp. sensor or something? By the way i only just noticed this after replaceing the fuel pressure reg.
Humm well as far as i know the failure is when it doesnt click therefore it doesnt relieve the fuel pressure. I cant see any problem with it clicking it means its purging, I dont think it can over puge or it should throw a code
GOLDFINGER22; That makes sense to me,must be working(no codes). Im going to the salvage yard sunday for some other stuff, ill pick up another one in case it clicks itself to death, at least ill know when it stops it died. Thanks for all your help.
when mine needed replacing it was throwing a code and building up tons of pressure in the fuel tank when you removed the cap. I replaced it at the cost of 22.00 it was never clicking.
The new one will not click when you first start it but very shortly after it starts and then never stops. If you pull the line off you feel it sucking when its clicking so it must be sucking the pressure off.
It has never built pressure since nor has the cel on
