I checked the fuel pressure reg seems to be fine and working

Now what bout the gas cap or purge valve ??

Is there a way to test the purge valve and where is it located ??

Some vacumn lines pull constant vacumn and some use it as needed, hence the brake booster, it charges the booster with a vacumn and then stops pulling vacumn until you step on the brake and then it refills as you use the brake. You need to track all the lines, i know on alot of olds and buicks the vacumn lines deteriorate and crack and leak like crazy. Start on the front of the transmission down on the driverside front and check them from there to the fuel pressure regulator and throttle body. Then follow the vacumn diagram from there and check everything. Your gas cap in most cases has a vent built it, did you replace your gas cap? Try that as well.

Humm so the cap does vent ?? I have not replaced it do you think I should ??

Heres the deal the CEL went off for a week or so and I didnt notice any pressure durring that time when removing the cap. Then it came back on and the pressure is back.

I removed the canister and there was no gas inside it and the lines all semed clear. Could the cap be causing this ?? What causes the cap to vent or not to ??

Cool

I bought a new cap 11.00 and put it on. I will clear the code and see what happens, I doubt this is the answer though

Default gearheads need help PLEASE!!!!

Ok I posted before on my 99 Park Ave CEL and excessive pressure in the fuel tank. I disconnected the hose going to the fuel tank pressure relief solenoid, it never built pressure again. I chgd the part and rehooked up the the wires and was good for about 400 miles, light back on and pressure back in the tank.

Now is there a part that tells the valve i chgd to open ?? This car is really starting to bother me... Any help is appreciated.I really dont have the extra cash to take it to the dealer right now

Did you ever replace the charcole canister? I remember this thread and I seem to recall suggesting you do this because the insides are packed up.
