I went to a w-body meet on Saturday. Lots of GM guys there, but one guy came with a Mercury Grand Marquis. Had engine problems that sounded like some kind of misfire, and sounded terrible on the way out. The sunroof guides were broken, the automatic door locks were broken, and a few other minor details here and there.
All I'm saying is, every car has its problems. I'm willing to bet you this would have been a cheap fix, and if I was closer, I would have bought it from you for 2x the price the scrap yard will give you, fixed it, and sold it for 2x that.
Actually, now that you do have another car, I would highly advise that you do fix it instead of sending it to a scrap yard. You'd make a lot more money that way.

i kinda have the same problem with mine, when i turn the key over, it primes for 2 seconds then the relay starts clicking, and stops when i try to start it up, it has fuel pressure at the rail, and starts when i put gas in the vacuum, any ideas?

oh and just to be clear it turns over fine but wont run without gas in a vacuum line. and i havent really had time to look, i just was looking for a few areas to start because this is the first gm car ive owned, and im not too familiar with their little quirks, and when the relay clicks the check engine light flickers.
