Question Fuel sending unit wiring diagram to PCM and Instrument Cluster 2003 century

Hey all,

Just trying to find a wiring diagram or set of diagrams to help me trace a fault with my fuel level sending unit.

I need to know which wires are what @ the top of the fuel pump assembly.

I know that there are probably two wires serving the fuel level sending unit (i'm guessing purple and another color?), which then go either directly to the PCM or directly to the instrument cluster.

I'd like to be able to measure the resistivity across the two leads coming from the fuel level sending unit, without having to drop the gas tank and remove the fuel pump.

1996 and newer vehicles, the fuel level is sent directly to the PCM.

Your best bet is to spend the $15 at Alldatadiy.com and get all the schematics you need.

I don't think you have to drop the tank..isn't there an access plate under the carpeting in the trunk, to the fuel tank?

As for the fuel level circuit, you need either a variable resistor, or a set of resistors to check your gage........40 ohms is E, 90 ohm * is 1/4, 140 is 1/2, 190 is 3/4, 240 is F.....

It'* usually a 4 wire connector.....purple and black are the level circuit, grey and black are the f/p circuit......the fuel pump wires will be bigger in size, compared to the fuel level size, due to higher current.....
