Car Stumble Issues; PO102 Code
The issue with my car had nothing to do with the transmission. We started out with a lean bank 1 code being set and then added in a MAF sensor code. I got a replacement MAF and cleared codes and drove the car; still has a stumble issue at times; but not above 2000 rpm. It also seemed as if it was a miss so since I had them on hand, I replaced the coils, the ignition module, and the ignition wires. No improvement. We pulled the IAC from the 93 (not sure of the changes between 93 to 98 in the IAC). No change. We put the old MAF sensor back in and the car drives fairly well with a stumble now and then. Now with the old MAF sensor it trips the 102 code; the new MAF does not. By the way, the lean bank 1 code has not returned (we did do a vacuum leak check on the hoses) We are thinking that the new MAF is bad. Now here is something that I thought the PCM would not do. More than once with the old MAF sensor in we have seen the CEL light go out only to return. I thought the car had to be driven X number of miles (I was told 100) before the PCM would clear the code.

It depends on the code, and the device. Some things need only the power turned on X times before it clears. Some need a full drive cycle which could take up to 100 miles. Usually that'* the EVAP system because EVAP won't test unless you are between 1/2 and 3/4 I believe. So you have to burn some fuel off.
Anyways, I wouldn't go taking parts from a 93 OBD1 system to a 98 with OBD2 system. Parts may look the same, but do change internally.

Let'* talk about the trouble. Probably with the ICV it is not that much of an issue but yes, I do agree about the part swap.
With going back and forth from the old MAF to the new MAF and the code 102 setting with the old and not with the new and the same stumbling condition between the two; am I chasing the wrong wabbit down the wrong hole?

I have ordered a new Dorman Mass Air Flow to replace the one I got off of that auction site. I do believe I had a problem related to Mass Air Flow; erratic idle; lean bank 1, etc.
The stumble seems to be trans related to me. How can I troubleshoot? It appears to only happen below 2000 rpm.

Live data scan tool so you can watch the MAF, LTFT'* B1/B2, O2'* etc.
You could still have a Lean B1 due to a bad gasket in the plenum or a bad injector O-ring.

Thanks. I replaced the plenum with the Dorman when I did the coolant leak and I replaced all the o-rings on the injectors at the same time. I had some computer software for data logging so will try that.
