I should add this to my thread about the car taking on water, but this thread has became an issue that I am sure stemmed from the water leak, so I am posting what I found on diagnosing the water leak here.
I am glad i have this FSM, because I did not know the SDM and all are somewhere under the carpet, and is I don't find out how to disable SIR the airbags could go off, and that is costly, so I cannot be having that happen..

Have you pulled the seats and carpet?
If you need what your talking about I think I could
find you a Sensing and Diagnostic Module (SDM) and the SDM connector.
That'* nice and dry not corroded here in Texas.

We are finally getting some warm days here, so I wanted to be sure I had all the info I could get out of my FSM, which I am glad I checked it because I did not know there was and SDM, or SIR for the airbags somewhere under the carpet.
I was looking for torque specs for the front seats, as well I wanted to see how the FSM recommended to remove them.

I'll get out and pull the seats and carpets soon, I have been having a hard time getting on a normal sleeping schedule, I am a bit of a night owl, and that is making it hard for me to have any daylight to get things done.

Went ahead and pulled the carpet back more in the front, and checked out the ground buss, it looked surprisingly clean, especially considering there was rust on the brackets that hole the giant wire loom to the that side channel, or whatever you call it.
I seen the carpet padding is soaked in front, no surprise there.
I put a new fuse in 8B, to be sure that fuse was not blown in a place I could not see.
I noticed water where my parking brake cable goes into, there is rubber around iit up to where it enters the body of the car, so hopefully it is not rusted as well.
I was getting ready to pull the seats, but in my FSM they show Buick, and the seats looked attached, I do have bench seats in front, but they don't look attached to one another.
Anyway, I am really considering getting a newer car, and just junking the thing, which is a shame because the motor is in good condition, and the trans is still holding up.
It is coming due to have a lot of bushings and suspension parts replaced though, and considering the damage done from water getting inside the car over the years, it just does not seem worth putting any more money into. :(

Took the covers off of the seat bolts, and those screws in the covers are rusted pretty bad, I figured I'll go ahead and remove the passenger seat, pull the carpet back, and see what it looks like, then if not too horrible I'll remove the drivers seat and see if I can clean it up a bit once I remove the carpet...
If it is too bad I am just going to go ahead and do like I plan, just get another car, and either do a little to it here and there, or just sell it for parts, etc...

Could the interior lights problem be related to a bad headlight dimmer switch ?

The FSM did not mention checking that at all, unless one of those wires I am supposed to trace lead back to that twilight sentinel switch.
I have had some issues with it in the past, on occasion if the lights were on via the twilight sentinel switch, and if I turned the headlights on manually by the door panel switch while they were already on I'd hear a buzzing sound coming from that switch area, which indicates a short or something.

Looking over the issues diagnostic chart, it says it could be the headlamp switch if all courtesy lamps are inoperative with the interior lamp control in the on position.
It says to test disconnect the connector, and use a fused jumper to E and F terminals, which is dark blue wire terminal to black wire terminal.
I got my radio to work again, found a short in the harness connector I bought years back.
And I swapped out all fuses that pertain to the interior lights with new fuses, just to totally verify none were blown.
If it does not rain tomorrow I'll try to get the seats out.

I had a bad headlight switch and it caused it not to have any dash lights but I think the heater control and radio was still illuminated.
It would be nice if you jump the E and F terminals and your lights come on I will keep my fingers crossed for you.
After all this research you have done you deserve a brake.

Just in case my twilight sentinel switch is bad, I figured I'd see if I can find a replacement, but finding the right one is hard to find, so far the only true match is one I found on E-Bay for a 95' park Ave.
I have spent like 2 hours looking for it new, so it looks like I'd have to try a junk yard and hope I find this exact one..
I may go ahead and get it, only 15.00 total...
