Default 2003 Buick Regal Over Heating

I have a 2003 Buick Regal with 3.8L V6 and it'* been over heating quite a bit recently. I have to fill up the radiator every other day however there always seems to be water in the Reservoir. I need a quick simple fix for it that can last a most a month since I plan to get rid of it soon.

I took there pics of where it seems to be leaking a small amount of water. It seemed to be a bit "sizzling" after I drove the car.

Also on the other side I found a small puddle of oil.

What'* the best way for a quick temp for both of these?

no quick fix for this, your intake manifold gaskets are bad and likely your rad cap because a leak doesnt mess up the fluid return to the rad. but you cant just leave it the coolant is probably mixing in the oil on the inside and will hydrolock the engine or spin the bearings. im in the same boat i just went to take care of the other common problem which is the coolant elbow which you can get in aluminum now to stop having to mess with. but i got the whole upper intake (because the heat cracks it sometimes) dorman 615-180 comes with all the gaskets inj o rings and other stuff for 67 from rock auto. i also got the lowers as long as i was in it i figured i might as well take the lower off and plug the coolant risers which most belive is the root cause of the issue

Just to recap Tony, the upper and lower intake manifold gaskets are a common failure on these engines. Through our years of research on this forum, its best to upgrade the lower manifold gaskets to the aluminum framed ones. Block off the coolant ports on the manifold and you should be good to go for the next 10 years.

Dorman has just came out with a newer designed coolant elbow that are made out of aluminum also. Justin should be installing his soon so HOPEFULLY, he will take pics.

The LIM gaskets may be fine now, but it would be YOUR luck, a month down the road and Murphy rears his ugly head. Better piece of mind knowing you did it now and not have it fail on you when its -10 outside.

hes from la not much chance of -10. but anyway that would be my luck. i have been screwed many times by myself buying cheap or saying it will be fine so i try to remember those times i could have saved myself why i got to shell out for some decent parts.

i remember one time it was colder than that and like the third fuel pump in my old 89 GP before i wised up. the worst part was my wife was driving the car, thankfully she was at work and it just wouldnt start she just went back in the building could have been way worse if she was in the middle of no where when it died. so thats why it seems better to get it done and get it done right

which coolant ports do you block off? I see the coolant ports in the heads once the LIM is removed. So are the ports in the LIM or the UIM? Also how do you block them off and with what?
