Please help !
Ok I posted below about problem with gas tank building pressure. I chgd the cap and cleared the code. It seems ok for a week or so then the CEL is back on and when you remove the cap there is a ton of pressure there. Now when this happens it is spitting some gas on my driveway, it looks like its runnind down forn the top of the tank, not alot of gas but enough to ruin a spot on my blk top.
What am I missing here ?? Someone must have run across this before. I dont have the cash to take it to the dealer.....Thank you

so...if this was bad it would create pressure ?? And if so where would it push the gas out ?? This car has the panel in the trunk to get at the fuel pump, do you think this is the prob ?? Again where would it be pushing the gas out ?

I have no idea where it would be pushing the gas out. But under pressure it'* going to find what ever weak point there is. The sensor is under that panel in the trunk.

do I have to pull the fuel pump ?? Would you take it to a dealer ?? How sure are you this is the problem ?
Would this be why when I tried to fill the tank when the car was running it blew gas back out ??

Remove the rear compartment floor trim.
Remove the fuel sender access panel bolts.
Remove the fuel sender access panel.
Disconnect the fuel tank pressure sensor electrical connector.
Remove the fuel tank pressure sensor.
That'* it, no need to remove the fuel pump. The sensor should be right there.

Is there a test to make sure this is the prob ?? Are you pretty sure its this ??
I took off the panel and I see a few plastic lines and a couple electrical connections. What does this sensor look like ??
Is it a dealer only item ??
Thanks

I see the sensor for sale online but it says this just moniyers the tank pressure and sends a signal to the computer if there is a leak, doesnt sound like this lets the pressure out ???
