Did replacing the brake switch solve your problem? I was having a similar problem last summer but, since it has been cool the problem has gone away. I suspect it may act up again when summer rolls around.

I haven't actually got around to replacing it just yet. I have been sick lately and haven't felt like diving under the dash unfortunately.

I will throw an update in once it goes in though.
