well it was weird because i usually run my stereo for up to 4 hours straight washing my car and the fact that i was starting it every couple hours to recharge the battery and then having it die 2 hours later kinda bugged me

Starting the car every couple of hours is probably what ran your battery down. Unless you let it idle for a while you are losing more battery power starting the car than you are gaining back by running it.

This is why I have two batteries for my big system with the second switched by a solenoid. Leave the car on ACC and it runs off the first battery. If the main battery dies, flip the car to ON and the second kicks in to start it (or so I thought). I actually had to put in a switch to manually send power from the second battery to the solenoid so it could flip = P. People always give me a funny look when I ask them to hop in the back seat and feel for the little button, there you go, now hold that in, and the car fires right up.
