rear end sway and vibration issues
hey all. having some issues with my car. had some massive issues in the front end, which ive finally got resolved. i was hoping it would be resolved with an alignment, but its still there. the issue is a vibration between 20 and 30 mph, and when the suspension compresses or decompresses it seems to sway right to left. i thought it was just in my head, but the air freshener around my mirror confirms it.
its got a different set of wheels/tires new shocks and new trailing arms. wheel bearings and brakes are also good. any help or ideas are appreciated!!!!!

bushings in the front are new. dont know that there are any in the rear. assuming there are, ive got spares. ill have to look at it tomorrow to see. i know the bracket that holds the trailing arms to the body is just grade 10 bolts. had to drop the bracket to do the trailing arms. im just hoping after this issue ill finally have this car good to go. ive replaced almost every wear item trying to get this car to ride like a buick should. with all the issues this thing has had, i find myself wondering why i bought it. my old park ave (also a 99) rides nicer and its got 70k more miles on it. grrrr

well, i did some looking on my alldata.... finally found an exploded diagram of the rear suspension. looks like it may have the bushings afterall. i just hope they are the same as the fronts. them thigs are about $36.00 a piece even thru rock auto. just so happens i have 2 spares. i also seem to remember the sway bar bushing bracket was cracked last time i was under there. maybe it finally broke. i dont know that a sway bar bushing would cause this though.
attached a pic of the diagram. thoughts?

I would go for the sway bar brackets.. But you can check the bushings while under there. Take a pry bar and see if the frame moves. You could possibly check the sway bar mounts the same way.. If youve changed everything it has to be 1 of the 2!

well, now looking at that diagram it looks like 3 or 4 possibilites. spring bushings, sway bar, body mounts or even the control arm bushings. im thinking the most likely to cause the sway and vibration is probably the control arm bushings. as much as it pains me to say it. cant even find a place to buy the rear control arms......

Have you replaced the Stabilizer Shaft link assembly on both sides?
Maybe it is time to do the sidewalk "Bertha Butt Boogie"
I will let you Google that as background music!
After installing the rear shocks today I found a sidewalk, that I could drive the rear of the car onto. (giving me good clearance to crawl under)
Now I had Bertha pressing against the rear fender, rocking the car sideways back & forth. while I was under there.
Ya Stuff will start to move all right...You may then see whats creaking or really loose!!!
