Ya now that I have the front struts/top plates/bearings..fun all right !!
Even though I would like to do this ASAP, and have the ole Buick riding smoother...
I am not so sure I want to install all the good stuff until the salt season has passed.
Besides I might as well get some more parts like the inner & outer tie rod on the drivers side, heck might as well throw in a ball joint for good measure too!

The PA ball joint had bit of play just before it went kerr-snap one day on the passenger side.
Anyways, intend on getting a bunch more parts to prevent any further disruptions, and hopefully be good for years to come.
I am not too good a thread counting, and since new ball joint, suspension & tie rods are going in, it has to go to alignment right after all the work is done..
FUN!= Going to do it right &..
Makin' it work..takes a little longer...Makin' it works takes a bit of time..(Doug & the slugs Lol)
Good luck getting yours up 2 speed!

Finally both tie rods arrived today from GM.
Does anyone know if this ring is plastic or steel at the steering rack end, and should I be ok with just reusing the old one?
The Inner tie rod has a nice warning about avoiding rack damage by using an adjustable, across the rack teeth during installation.
Any other tips I should be aware of?
I see the outer comes with boot and zerk fitting. Good.

its plastic and what purpose it does I have no idea
a moog inner tie rod end is bigger and it wont fit on there
I thought could be a bump stop for a full lock right or left turn but
It don't make contact with anything at a full lock turn
FORD uses a Teflon C looking washer to act like a bump stop
but its only about a 1/8 inch wide

The plastic piece is just a dust cover to protect the flats on the tie rod i guess. Not really sure what its purpose is. Pops right off with a screwdriver so you have access to the flats to remove the tie rod.
