BTW should I order a new PCV while there as well and would a NAPA part be ok or should go to dealer for it?
Also I assume 7.4 ft/lbs is ok torque on both upper & lower bolts-blue locker?

7.4 ft/lbs aka 89 in lbs is fine for the upper intake manifold bolts, but the lower ones should be 11 ft/lbs.
Clean all the old loctite off of those bolts, I used blue loctite on all of the bolts.

That'* right, I totally forgot about using the thread sealant on my LIM bolts, glad you caught that Justin!
I looked back at my Amazon orders and I see what I used on my LIM bolts.
Like I said about the threads, be sure to get them as clean as possible, if you have a vice, hacksaw, and a nut that will fit the bolts, then you could put the nut in the vice and cut into it so it is like a C, if that makes sense, you could buy thread chasers, but what I am talking about would work better IMO, and it would be cheaper, you just thread the nut on and run it down the bolt, the small part you cut out is where all the old thread sealant will come off of the threads.

It did not make contact, it melted on the top of the plenum above the stove pipe. I wish now that I took some pictures.

That is classic plugged/partially plugged converter......that is definitely not a Dorman problem....
What happens is, because the converter is plugged or partially plugged, this will build up exhaust back pressure and actually lift the EGR pintle off it'* seat, or if open, force even more unregulated exhaust gas shooting up to the top of the plenum and eventually melt it....this will be more prevalent during an acceleration......
This car should not have been running right.....

art, assuming you havent already bought them, might i suggest some E3 spark plugs? they seem to get a bad rap, but i couldnt be happier with them. car runs smoother, quicker startups and it seems like theres just a touch more power. plus, it got me an extra 1.2 mpgs on average! thats huge in our tanks of cars. lol.
i also installed them in laurens impala (3.8 ) which has seen over 15k since i installed them in october of last year, and they have gotten her an average of 33.2 mpg on the 95% highway miles its had over that time period.

Maybe next time Jason I will try E3'*, I got the NGK Iridium'* last Saturday. 10$ each!
With the iridium'* and the odyssey battery the PA jumps to life immediately !
Hope I can say the same after UIM/LIM plugs,PCV and ++ job...

Wrenching time...Get er done..Well work in progress anyway..so far so great!
The LIM gasket was original and pretty much fallin apart.
Good that I am replacing the stuff now. Hopefully I can go another 100k soon!
No internal coolant leaks, push rods feel good. Overall much cleaner than I expected.
Right now I think I could use some robaxacet though.
I am on to cleaning everything else next / preparing for install...
Got snap ring off, overall intake looks not bad ...
Well that was a quick update...fun!
