97 ultra Intake Manifold gaskets
I plan on ripping the top off this engine an change all the gaskets up top the engine and SC. Have some seepage of oil and 180 thou. preventive don,t like breaking down out here. any way, in looking for gaskets.
1. I have a question about 1st design and 2nd design LIMs whats the difference? other then pins no pins, which would work best on the 97 SC engine?
2. The ULM are there different ones for N/A an SC?
Is there a gasket kit that covers LIM, ULM, valve cover, fuel, an other assorted seals an gaskets?
3. now what about fuel seals, that should be replace while I have it apart?
Use to carb systems, injected and superchargers are new territory for me and I 'm jumping in with both feet I aint scared, in a garage with heat an time.lol
Might even be interested in a rebuilt SC after I check this one out after I get it off seems perfectly alright but I am very unsure how many miles are on it. everything I have checked has been still acceptable to still be in use, other then minor oil leaks from gasket age. any help thanks.

First, look at this. https://www.gmforum.com/mechanical-134/changing-lim-gasket-278911/ I know it shows a NA engine, but the steps are still the same.
ZZperformance has gasket kits for this job. I suggest getting the aluminum framed LIM gaskets.
Ya, change the injector O rings, it'* cheep and easy.
All in all the job is easy. Takes me about 2 hours. Give yourself 4+ hours. The LIM bolts are 3/8, not 10mm.

I probably spent 4hrs cleaning parts.lol I'm in no rush. but have to wait on injectors overnite.
I have a question about the supercharger an changing the oil in it .I was wondering what the best way to drain the oil? I thought I would see a drain plug but didn't see one? I know nothing about these. Should there be any slop in the pulley end rotational wise? Seems I can turn it a 1/4 "before comin in contact with any thing. Im tired lol time for bed

There'* a drain plug on the front of the snout near where it bolts to the other section. There should be a write up on changing the oil in tech info. The stuff stinks bad. You can use mobile1 5w30 synthitic. And no, there should be no play. You have a bad coupler.

That is nice to know thanks. Will unhook it an run it just to check to see if I have other grinding noises an locate any I find.

You say the supercherger is bad. What does that mean? If you are going to by pass the supercharger any way go ahead and drain it and take the snout off. Very possible it is just a worn coupler. It is not very expensive and really easy to replace. With that many miles its probably what is causing the play in the pulley.

Thanks I was thinking of that, but its the bearings grinding them selves to death, that bothers me.
I don't have a press and one isn't readily available to me out here. I'll build one when I have this car running like new, I'll have the extra time on my hands then.lol
So I need one with good bearings, changing just the coupler won't fix this one.
I believe it was run with out oil for a while,I put 8oz in it when I got it and it only holds 8 oz. finding lots on this car haven't been touched or checked since it was new maybe.
Ill get one for a 100 bucks with good bearings and replace coupler in it and not worry about the bearings giving out with new parts an oil in it.lol
