have to break it down into simple differences and tackle them one at a time.

We could have 5 GM electrical engineers here, and they probably wouldn't have a clue as to what advice to give you based on the fact that the electrical system has been compromised from the get-go.

i think they are different, why didnt you just swap the physical engine and leave the body wiring alone?

well the pack that comes from firewall its orig, the one i have on engine is from the engine it came with, only reason i left it there, cause i checked and compared to ECU harnesses they look identical and since engine i took of still has it on it i figured id leave it on it. as far as a light pack, because like i said one that came w/a car was all coroded, lots of naked wires w/no rubber on them, and they are all spliced w/plastic splicers. i though well if a donor car (which i drove home unlike one i actually was working on) had all in tact ill use its wires. Donor car had a hit on a side was half dented but it drove and all worked on it. i drove it home cause it was 2miles from me.

i would say try to put it back to 97 everything electrical and then see what works and go from there. really tough and complex to do a bunch of stuff at once and then figure out what went wrong.

Justin, at first when i started this thread i said that my lights work low/high, all works but the car shuts of when L or R turn is on, and no park lights, no speedo hvac lightning which all 3 turns by one pull of switch. That condition was present w/a lightning pack wires connected on a back of that pack in a series form 99 donor car. but later in here i mentioned that since i had firewall pack orig 97, i desided to reposition wire pins on a back of light pack to be identical to of 97 that i pulled of (coroded and messed up one). Then it went back to having same original problem that i bought a car with, which it does have park light speedo hvac light, but when u pull switch further to turn lights on nothing happens untill u switch to hight (low comes on). So in that sence of wiring speaking - wire packs are all in its original 97 pin locations just as it was when i got the car. The only thing is that before i took engine out (when i would idle a car, i never presed L or R blinker to see if it shuts off) so i wont know if that shut of prob also was present at the time.

right now based on my 97 book from the car, wires i have all in original pin locations, but based on dealer info 2 blocks i had (one donor car - which was obvious cause it was un effed w/and had 99 block since car is 99) and one that a car came with (which supposedly was 97 block) Neither are suited for a 97 model. based on their words ONLY 97-98 block does. However, i was at junk last night gave them both VINS of two regals i was looking at, one of which she said was 97 and block which she said would work (one i just described not matching w/things)
