Bah. Not so interested in the GSX. Modded. Not interested in a modded car.
Got my eye on a third GS: '03 17,000 miles, $12,000. Will know more Thursday.

Well, I looked at another one last night...
http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/437076089.html
Was a very nice car and everything was mint. Drove like a dream.
But, the more sensible side of me (and my wife) took over and we've decided to proceed with the 2001.
http://detroit.craigslist.org/car/433803682.html
He'* asking $6,750 in the ad. When I met with him on Sunday his price had already dropped to $6,000. Last night I called him and offered him $5,500 based on a few things I found wrong with the car - collection of moisture/dust around the SC (very mild coolant leak), needs brakes, blown rear passenger speaker, and the low coolant light is on (coolant level sensor needs replaced). Plus there'* a crack in the windshield up near the roof. He didn't immediately accept and said he was sticking with $6K. But after I explained my reasons he said he would think about it over night and call me in the morning (any time now). So, I'm just waiting for the phone to ring.

Yeah, the worst that can happen is to have your first offer accepted immediately. Lets you know you could have gotten it for less. Sounds like you are right where you want to be. Good luck.

Good choice on the 01. Sensible is really the best way to go. use the saved money for something else... like household projects...

Thanks for the tip on the 03 in Grand Ledge.
I'm now somewhat in a pickle.
The guy with the 03 with 18,000 miles called me back. He wants to work out a trade for my GM and some cash to cover the balance. This is a nice way to go since it would eliviate me from having to sell the GM. But, he has a note on the 03 Buick GS so I'm not sure how that would work. The bank is out of state too. Makes this difficult.
That was before the guy with the 01 called me back. He countered my offer of $5,500 (as expected) with $5,700. I accepted and told him we'd get back with him to arrange a pick up time.
What to do, what to do...
