I have a 2004 Buick LeSabre with a speedometer that registers fast. If it reads 65 MPH true speed is 60 MPH.

How can I recalibrate?

You can purchase a tuning device (DiabloSport, HP Tuners, etc.) or take it to the dealer. Tuners are fairly expensive so if all you want to do is recalibrate the speedometer you should go to the dealer.

Are you not running stock tires?

I just checked with a Buick dealer and was told they would have to pull the cluster and send it out to get a recalibration. This really doesn't sound right!

Programming for a different tire size or rim can be done to adjust for speed errors for Obd2 cars.
The formula'* a little tricky in programming, but a knowledge tech at dealer should be able to accomplish input for new sizing.
If you were running the original stock tire size and the speedometer is out slightly, they would recommend that the speedometer be recalibrated.
Probably a tuner may know how to tune for 5 mph less based on an new input of a tire size though.

The speedometer can be recalibrated by connecting the appropriate equipment to the car'* diagnostic port, which is located near you left knee when you are driving. Perhaps the dealer feels it is not a calibration issue, but thinks the speedometer has failed and needs to be replaced. That, of course, would require pulling the cluster.

You still have not told us if you are running stock tires or not. If you have not changed tires sizes this may not be a calibration issue.
