Question '96 Park Avenue Ultra Supercharger - oil in coolant

I've recently purchased a '96 Park Avenue Ultra which has the series 2 3800 motor supercharger. I knew it had a small oil leak when I bought it but I was told it was a valve cover & an easy fix. I noticed today that my coolant reservoir didn't look as "green" as it should, so I dipped a stick in it & it came out oily! I contacted a friend with more mechanical knowledge & he said that I might need to replace my radiator due to a blown cooler, but it could also be coming from my supercharger due to a crack or bad gasket. Has anyone had this issue or know whether it'* the radiator or the supercharger?

DEX cool tends to sludge up in the reservoir and it will look oily. Clean it out and you should be fine. The oil in the supercharge can't get in to the coolant system, totally different system. There are problems with the LIM gaskets, but they tend to seep a very small amount of coolant in to the oil, not even enough to be worried about. Changing the LIM gaskets is easy.

Generally when you have oil in your coolant it is because of a blown head gasket. DO NOT drive of even start the car untill a mechanic can look at it. It could overheat on you and then you will also have mega buck in having machine work done on you heads if the engine over heats!!!! Good luck!!!

I've not seen any blown head gaskets on a stock 3800.
