It could have a pressure control solenoid problem. Other people on here have been able to fix harsh shifting on the 4t65e by installing a shift kit made by TransGo and switching the fluid to dextron VI.

First off welcome to the forum, many knowledgeable members here and the forum has helped me tremendously especially addressing the very same problem with your transmission you are now experiencing. It sounds like you have the infamous 4t65-E transmission pressure control solenoid (PCS) failure and you could address it a couple of different ways. Have a transmission shop read the codes on your transmission and if it is the PCS it can be replaced but at the expense of much labor. Or as many have suggested before in this forum try the Transgo shift kit. I researched this long and hard before commiting to the Transgo kit, results for longevitiy seemed to far outweight going with the shift kit rather than PCS replacement. I went with the Triple Edge Performance package that included the Transgo shift kit with other items. I couldn't be happier with the performance of my transmission now. although the shift kit only addresses the 1-2 and 2-3 shifts if you only drop the transmission pan to access that accumulator, my 3-4 shift and TC lockup shift have been smooth since I'm guessing the kit kept the transmission from going into max adapt pressure mode. some call this a band-aid fix, others say it has lasted many thousands of miles, time will tell for me I guess, good luck to you.

Just google 4t65e shift kit and many suppliers sell it online. Your local transmission shop might be able to order one for you through their supplier.

The P1811 code usually will be set in the PCM......road test with scan tool will show rpm slippage of more than 50rpms(should be under 30)
They are not expensive......it'* the labor to get to it that is.....you have to remove the driver'* side axle..........disconnect the intermediate shaft.....you have to drop the cradle on the driver'* side......you have to drop the engine/tranny assembly on the driver'* side(support it)......then have enough access to remove the side cover......will need new gasket and o-ring.....then remove the solenoid.......when it'* all together, I recommend a transmission service and filter....
