hey gus, yes i did do that. the right side always does what its supposed to do. on full cold, both sides blow outside air. on full hot, the drivers side blows cold air and the passenger blows hot. what is always consistent is that the driver side is always blowing a lesser volume of air than the passenger.

i have laid on the floorboard and watched the air mix actuator move from one extreme to the other when i command cold vs hot, and i have also moved the dowell it attaches to by hand. on full cold, in the position its supposed to be in it blows outdoor air at a slower speed than the passenger side, and at full cold if its put in the hot position, there is a very low volume of very hot air coming out.

OK, so with A/C off, dual off, on full code, taking outside air, both sides are blowing at the same temp(ambient air)? Is air flow the same on both sides out of the vents?

At full hot, you are saying, the driver'* side is still cold, and the passenger side is hot? there is no change when you manually move the driver'* door, temp wise? If there isn't, then that door is broken and you have a cluster f**k because the whole HVAC unit would have to come out to replace it....

no there is a change. if set to cold, the door on the cold setting blows outdoor air. the door on the hot setting with the hvac set to cold, a very very small amount of very hot air leaks out of the vents at a very very low air speed.

would it be possible to get the procedure on how to replace the entire HVAC box? ive had the dash apart several times, and i need to install my remote start anyway. so i may as well kill 2 birds.

thanks alot

i searched vacuum and hvac on my alldata and came up with this schematic. can anyone tell me what the heck those 3 numbered "things" are? im wondering if there isnt some sort of vac line that might have come off causing my problems.

uploaded the pic to this post, as photobucket is down for maintence.

From the diagram, you have electrical actuators, so vac is not involved.....All of those "*"#'*, are soldered joints that are "hidden" in the harnesses....the arrows show the approximate location in the harness....

AHHH that makes sense.

im really starting to think there is a physical blockage in the ductwork someplace. i cant figure out how else it would be doing this. the slower volume of air in itself has me confused. man i wish i had a borescope with a 6 or so foot long extension right now.

part of me really wants to take a drill to the duct work BEFORE the blend door armed with a plug to fill the hole after, just to see if there is a difference with air temp/volume.
