Default Power window motor and electric switch

Hello all,

The driver'* side motor was bogging down and making a clicking noise. With 214000 miles I thought it would be best to replace the motor. I bought a reman from NAPA and popped it in and lubed the pivot points and track.

Here is a tip - I also took apart the driver'* side switch and used contact cleaner and cotton tips to clean the switches. When I put everything back together I noticed that the other three windows were also working faster.

So if your windows are sluggish do not forget to consider the possibility of dirty contacts. Cleaning the driver'* side switch module sure made a significant difference for me.

Cleaning the contacts does not always work, but always worth a try for sure.
