3800 UIM / LIM Gaskets Parts etc
Even though when I bought my 97 PA a while ago, previous owner just repaired the Dorman UIM gasket not sure if he did the lower, it seems once every month I am having to add about a cup or two of coolant to the reservoir. I suppose the next step is to pressure test the rad and look for leaks. The oil looks fine with no bubbles or water present. I suppose I should replace both gaskets to be safe in the future.
Question: What are the best current parts / links for this 1997 3800? aluminum gasket?
New metal elbow?
I read Danthurs post form a few years back should I do a bypass?
Help and links greatly appreciated!

i got the aluminum elbow and the dorman upper kit and felpro aluminum lower gasket from rockauto. i did the jacket plug so the coolant wont get into the plastic, seems like a bad idea to me for it to even be in there. it has no problems in the cold either.

you have to get it separately. but the reason i liked the dorman upper kit is because it had alot with it, the erg things, injector o-rings, the o-rings for the map, etc. they didnt give it enough of the injector ones though not sure what is the deal with that

not sure if that link will work but if you do a part number search on rock auto for 47065hp

i might do something like that if i wanted to turbo the engine but the new dorman plastic ones come with a revised egr and thicker plastic where it needs it. i think that and blocking the coolant is plenty good for a stock engine
