After you click the Buick forum, when all the threads are listed, the new thread tab is at the top and bottom, on the left side.....

It is a little perplexing because fuse #18 is ok....the left and right rear circuits use separate ground splice packs, so I doubt both would be a problem at the same time.....

You don't need serial data, to operate the power windows from their respective door switches....

Do you have the inhibit switch pressed on your master switch for the rear windows?

thats what i thought for a while but there have been several threads on here with problems with the "simple network" and none of the windows worked from the switches either, thats why its a tough problem

Yes, I am not really sure if you need the serial data line to operate the rear windows.....what comes into play here is, the rear door locks, since they don't work either....

So it may be possible, if the serial data line is open, it could affect both door modules, taking out both windows and locks in the rear.....but the scematic doesn't kind of show that.....

As you can see, if circuit 2076, was grounded anywhere, then nothing would work, because there would be no signal going anywhere, but in this case, the RF door is ok....

Apparently S302 is ok, because the RF works.....there would have to be a break in BOTH leads to the rear door modules.....

And the more I think about it, if the door modules are not receiving info on this line, it could disable the modules.....so obviously a good place to start would be at that S302 junction, if both door modules have power and ground....easy to test with a voltmeter, should see a varying voltage on that line....let'* say you are at C1, G terminal of rr door module...should see a varying voltage, especially if you press the rr button at the master switch.....

This is actually easy to diagnose, with a Tech II(car may have U or B codes set), because you can see the inputs and the outputs of all door modules.....however, not too may Techs have a $5K scanner in their back pocket...

that s302 is the frequent issue because its under the driver seat and apparently at a point that collects water if you have a leak elsewhere

I did take the car to Autozone, and the manager came out with a handheld scanner and plugged it into my car - just under the dash, to the left of the steering column. I am not sure what kind of scanner (didn't look like a $5k toy, but what do I know), and he said it showed no error codes. What is the specific name of the scanner, and maybe I'll ask around. Is it the type that a corner garage mechanic might have? I do have a mechanic I use for PA state inspection, and he is a friend too, so I can call him, but I should know the name of the scanner?

You might have a point there. Earlier in the thread - the original posts in 2011, there was mention of having to remove the driver'* seat. Do you think I should just change the s302 and see what happens?

Of course I would like to first confirm the s302 is the definite fix.

That scanner at AutoZone, probably only reads "P" codes....you are looking for "B" and "U" codes.....

I would check that 2076 circuit for a varying voltage, at either rear door module.......

lets keep it to one thread. when the s302 threads have come up it has been just the windows wont work from either the ddm or the individual door switch
