Default engine swap?

Bought a 2000 pa ultra,motor bad,was planning on putting motor from 99 regal gs in the park ave. Is this swap gonna be ok? thanks

If both engines are supercharged, then yes it will swap over. But to be on the safe side, take your 2000 sensors off the engine and put them on the 99 engine. Sensors tend to change over the years. And whatever brackets don't match.

And to be even SAFER. Remove the oil pressure sensor first before pulling the engine. I've broken 2 of them on different occasions.

my buddy at parts place says oil pan and harmonic balancer need to be replaced also

What are you doing? Are you swapping super charged engine for supercharged engine?

yes both are 3.8 supercharged

Then the harmonic balance will be fine. Oil pan, I DOUBT you would have to swap it, but just eye ball it when you have them out. Only reason I can think of if you have to swap pans is if your getting an engine from a rear wheel drive car.

update,motor went in fine,changed oil pan as recommended,only other issue was exhaust manifold is slightly different and dipstick tube for tranny had to be modified(straightened some). Motor purrs like a kittened

new issues,drove car last night and noticed oil pressure stuck at 130 psi and fuel gauge reads empty, hmmm, that car is a screamer,pretty awesome
