Default '00 Lesabre Cruise control problem

CC stopped working last week....the "Cruise" illumination on the dashboard will not come on. Therefore, I assumed it was just the switch in the steering wheel. I got a new switch and replaced it....also checked the CC fuse under hood and it was good. What else should I check... Additionaly, I just put the tranny back in after pulling it and taking it in for a rebuild--- anything I should check there?

Thanks

Thanks. I've run down most everything and it seems to be ok...even replaced the switch and the resume/coast switch... I'm beginning to feel the module itself under the hood on the fender wall has gone bad.

There'* a switch on the brake peddle. 2 actually, one is the TCC lock up, the other is the brake light. If that'* not working right the CC will not turn on.

I realize the speed would not set if the peddle switch was bad, but even then the "CRUISE" indicator on the dash would probably illuminate. I'm not get the "CRUISE" to come on at all...and the CC fuse is good. I just re installed the tranny after a rebuild.....the CC was working before the rebuild. Is there something on the tranny I should check (connection etc....).

Thanks

vss signal comes from the trans goes to the pcm. from the pcm it goes to the hud, ip, and ccm. if your speedometer works its not likely. the only thing that it could be with the vss signal would be wiring from s215 to the ccm. if you want test the ccm pin g should be no voltage without the brakes, 12v with the brakes on. it would be hard to test the others the vss i think you would need a scope. you could test for continuity from where the vss splits from the speedo to the ccm pin k. if that cruise inhibit wire was grounded or pinched so that it is touching metal it would never work either.

Speedo works just fine...that'* what clued me in the VSS was connected properly. I'm frustrated the the "Cruise" indicator is not on.... where on this diagram is the steering wheel on/off switch. I changed that and no luck....We'll keep working on it...thanks for your help.

some of the diagrams are simplified. but in doing so they leave stuff out and mess stuff up like on all the other drawings the brake switch is NC so you would have 12v at the ccm until you put the brake on then it would go away.

I'm about to loose my mind with this car. Just tonight the windshield wipers stopped working. They were working fine this afternoon. Now they won't come on at all.....the washer portion does work...but nothing of the wipers. I checked all the fuses labled for such and they seem to be ok. What on earth is going on here? JW Firebird do you have a schematic for the wipers as well? AND maybe a solution. Thanks

Is it possible this car got wet, as in really wet? Kind of sounds like a grounding corrosion problem.
