Default XM radio vs. CD changer

While looking for an aftermarket CD changer for the Bonneville GXP, I came across the Neo Changer. According to an application guide, I would have to unplug(?) the XM radio to use a CD changer.

So, my question is...
Does anybody have XM radio and a trunk cd changer? If so, are both controled via the radio controls?

many trunk mounted satelite radio units also have cd changer control functions, i used to have a kenwood sirius set up that had CD changer capability

your post has me scratching my head hard??? my gxp came with monsoon stereo with xm built in , it is not an acessory to radio it'* literally part of radio, the only other component is cd changer in trunk and everything works off radio controls and steering wheel controls
does your have a single disc cd in radio already or no cd at all and if it does have xm it'* surely built in

also xm is so cool after you figure out controls and where the stations are, little need for cd

i'd research it fully before you pull anything out did you see if harness prewired in trunk yet for changer..........maybe 5 pin socket on back of radio for add ons?

but hey took me all day just to find BATTERY guess i should read the manual one day

I was thinking the same thing until I came across this statement, while looking for an aftermarket cd changer:
"2003-2005 If XM mode is used, you must not have GM factory original XM tuner installed. If installed you must unplug it for the neo changer to work."
at: http://www.lafayetteradio.com/CD_Cha...eo-changer.htm
...and that got me wondering if the XM radio option was actually a plug-in module (similar to the CD changer option.)

Did I hear something about the battery being under the seat?
