Trunk Leak
Has anyone else with a GXP or any Bonneville for that matter noticed any trunk leaks from the bottom? I know that when the trunk is opened water tends to run off the lid into the trunk, but that is definitely not the case here.
Yesterday I drove through pouring rain in Ontario returning back to Michigan from the holidays. While unpacking my trunk I noticed everything was damp on the bottom. When I looked in the trunk the maton the bottom was soaking wet. It seemed to be the wettest in the back left. After only a quick look I couldn't see anything obvious but I didn't want to pullthe whole mat out. It obviously hasn't been to a dealer yet since I just found it yesterday.
I couldn't find any damp spots except for the floor of the trunk, so I think water must somehow be splashing up from below rather than coming in from above.
I bought the car last April and it now has 13,000 miles and this is the first I've noticed this, although that doesn't necessarily mean it just started.

Haven't noticed any moisture in the trunk but will check again in the am....mine is garage kept and we haven't had any rain to speak of in central Florida in over a week and I wasn't out in that so... I did have a problem with trunk lid alignment that I had to have the dealer fix... I hope you can find the source, good luck.

trunk leak
I bought an 05 GXP 2 months ago and the first time it rained, the trunk was soaking wet! The dealer finally found 2 leaks in the seams of the body somewhere and got them sealed up. They also replaced the carpet in the trunk for me. Maybe a manufacturing problem>???????

HoffGM,
Remove the interior panels at rear of trunk, also remove floor mat, and look very closely at the body seams (unibody) around the tail lights. Take a cup of water, pour onto the left drain channel (trunk open) to let the water run down into bumper area. Check to see if water is coming in through a seam that wasn't properly sealed. I had the exact same problem on my bonne. I had to take to dealership and show them where the leak was.
