There are two "rivets" or something in the middle of the dash over the gauges on my '01 SSEi. I can't figure those bad boys out. It looks something like the cheap wall anchors that you use to hang a picture. Seems like an insert that goes in and then you drive a plastic pin through a hole in the center to make the thing expand. I have no idea how to retract the pin and get the thing out.
The rivets are easy to get out. Press firmly on the centre until it snaps. The centre will recess and then you can remove them. I find it'* easier to gently pull down on the intstument cluster trim to pop them out than to pry them with a screwdriver and risk scratching the cluster finish.

Once they are out, you'll see how they work. To reset them, push the centre pin out (beyond the recessed posision). This will allow you to reinsert them, then once in place push the centre in until its flush to lock them is place. These are a 3-Position fastener.

Oh yeah, NOT cheap. If you can believe it, these things are 8 or 9 dollars each!

A copy of the harness or were you referring to something else?

Awesome!
Thanks!
Now I know exactly what you're talking about. I ran into some of those buggers when replacing my wife'* headliner in her Grand Caravan. The "grand" or larger Chrysler mini-vans have a two-piece headliner and they use these clips where the two sections overlap. You're right, they don't give these things away! Also, on her van the things were colored to match the headliner. All I could find were black ones and I had to spray paint them gray to match. That was a project that I hope I never have to do again! The $300 that I saved by doing it myself wasn't worth it!

Darcy, Would you happen to know the part # for the antenna ? I checked mine today and it just has the two wires coming from it. looked like a blue and a black wire. It also looks possible to change it without completely removing the headliner. I guess that depends if its just the one bolt holding it on.

I certainly do... sit down before you check the cost of it though!

The antenna base is P/N: 25775255
The antenna mast is P/N: 10335503

Yes, there is only one bolt that hold it in place. In the photos I posted you can see it'* the one in the centre of the three pronged retainer. There is a torque spec on this bolt. I'll have to look it up for you. 18 lb.in rings a bell but I'll confirm.

I'm going to try and get to a cost on that cable as well. It'* just been super crazy this past week. I promise I haven't forgotten though. I'm heading out of the country tomorrow for a few days so I'll try my best to have it before then.

Just checked the price at GM Parts Direct, The base is 82.02 and the antenna was 13.96 and the cable was 50.07. I'll search Ebay before I buy the new one.

Be glad you don't live in Canada. The base alone is nearly $200.00! We get screwed on parts up here.

The base is not the same. The way the antenna assemblies are manufactured there are only two pieces. The base (containing the GPS and if applicable, the XM antenna) and the mast. If you don't have all three cables, you need to purchase the correct base. The mast is universal but sometimes they can break getting them apart. The antennas contained inside the base cannot be replaced individually.

In your case, since you only have a black and a blue coax you'll need to replace that assembly.

Yeah... just checked with the dealer and the Canadian price now is actually $240.90!

I can build that cable for $65.00 shipped. As I mentioned, it'* not that it'* a super complex cable but I want to make it easy to install using factory connectors. You will need to splice one wire but otherwise just install the cable, insert 5 terminals into existing connectors, plug the connector into the DRR and you should be good to go (excluding the antenna connection). Three of the terminals needed are extremely hard to get but I was able to track down a source for a limited number of them. Complete instructions are be included.

Just let me know what you'd like to do. Sorry it took so long to reply, I've been out of the country the past week.
