G body is a much better platform and much more stable at high speeds

when they did the update, the lesabre/park/bonnie/ etc etc used a slightly cheaper less refined version of the 95+aurora/98+seville plateform.

140 is silky smooth in the rora.....or so ive "heard" muahahahaa

hey taylor, whats the fastest you can go in the bonneville and still get it to kick down into 2nd? 65ish for the 3.71 geared aurora, id have to guess 69-70ish for a sts since they rev a little higher

G body HA. H body is wider and a lil more stabler.
Huh? :?

1992-1999 Bonneville:
Wheelbase: 110.8"
Overall length: 200.6"
Overall height: 55.7"
Body width: 74.5"
Front track: 60.8"
Rear track: 60.9"

2000+ Bonneville:
Wheelbase: 112.2"
Overall length: 202.6"
Overall height: 56.6"
Body width: 74.2"
Front track: 62.6"
Rear track: 62.1"

Yes, the '92-99 have a whopping 0.3" wider body. It is the width of the track, the rubber on the road, where the new body style gains over an inch. The "H" body also is much stiffer due to the integration of the strut towers into the firewall. Add to that Stabilitrak, Magnasteer and bigger brakes, and that is where you will find stable control.

This will probably open a can of worms and we have to make sure we are talking apples-apples. I do agree that for straight line accelleration, the older Bonne'* might have a slight advantage due simply to the weight gain of the new body style with no change in power.

As far as handling and control, this is a major improvement over the older style (comparing stock vs. stock).

we have a 97 and a 2000 and i will say that the 2000 has a MUCH more responsive ride than the 97. the 97 is kinda mushy wheras the 2k is more firm and sensitive.

yeah, in 2000 the bonnevilles basically moved to a "g body" platform, slightly altered. ive heard the mid year 2001+ aurora'* platform is MUCH improved over the 95-99 aurora. the 2000 bonneville most likely falls in between the 99 and mid2001+ aurora.

Im going to make this a little more competitive.

The biggest HP series 2 3.8l I know of is Scotts. 660 odd HP

The biggest HP Northstar is 1200hp..but I have not actually seen this unit so i revert to the milder 800hp turbo unit.

You can do what you do to a 6 to a 8..

This means one basic rule will always apply if equally built. Cubic inches are king!!!!!

which one whines the most ??? I think the SSEi also wins in another catigory.. the ease of modding. .. i mean, a damn supercharger pulley reduction'* total cost is under 100$ ..for like what.. 20 horsepower?? just a prime example.. i'm sure there'* more.

92 - 98 interior suxors. cheap plastic oWns. i like the bonne factory rim variety as well. also, for some reason a bonne is just more fun to drive. if it didnt say supercharged on the side i dont think anyone would expect it to move.
