Default Rough Idle....

ok I haven't started or driven the car since friday, but did move it yesterday only ran for less then 5 minutes, Today I went out and started her up ... She ran like **** and blew 2 blue clouds of what smelt like fuel out of the exhaust :?

this could be contributed to my dieseling problem I have been told that I will have to wait another 2 weeks for the regional rep to approve any internal work.

I will be contacting my dealer on Tuesday and I will be driving it regardless...

could this be the begining of catastrophic failure ?

Hmmm... Since when can a fuel injected car diesel after it is shut off? Are you sure you don't mean sputtering?

No but the term "dieseling" is used to describe a carburated car that continues to run very roughly after it is shut off.

He'* correct. Dieseling IS runon for us old-school carb guys.

Call your symptom 'sputtering'.

95% of these issues are ignition related.

Will do you think this was a fluke cause by the car only running 24 hours before for less then 5 minutes ?

Rob..go start the car and see if it still exists..

It'* not something we can determine from the car not running for one day. It'* unexpected to say the least.

Well she started with no issues this morning... I will however be going out on the highway for a few 6k runs in second to reseat the rings...

From what I have read this should be done once a week depending on driving styles
