Default 2006 Buick Lucenre - Another GM powered by the Northstar

It looks like GM is trying another vehicle with the Northstar. This time a Buick. I was at my GM dealership getting some minor warranty work done on my GXP and was looking through some of the new pamphlets. The Buick Lucerne is the next vehicle with the Northstar. It looks like they will be using the same version of Northstar as the GXP (LD8 - 275 HP) with the same transmission. It has some new features, heated AND cooled seats. Heated windshield washer fluid for winter and auto wipers. The dash is pretty boring when compared to the Bonneville but looks like a nice car. The prices isnt too bad either. List is about 10 K (CDN) less than the GXP was. I guess GM figured they would have to lower the price if they want to keep this car alive.

Buick Lucerne = 3rd Gen Aurora. Had Olds not been killed off, there would be no Lucerne, it would be Aurora (and probably better looking).

Nice car tho.

When the dealer gets one the salesman is going to call me to go for a spin. They have a new magnetic suspension too. Will be interesting to see what the car is like. I am sure it will be awesome! Funny though, the last time I was in he tossed me the keys to a Solstice. Nice looking car, but what a rough ride. Yikes.

My parents are getting one, in fact my dad was supposed to take delivery at 2:00 this afternoon so I'll get to check it out soon. Outside looked very nice in pics. I know he got most of the options, but I think his stickered out real close to what a new GXP was list, about $38k.

The price that I was looking at was at the GM Canada website. By the sounds of it if you bought one here with all the options it would like be the same as the GXP here. (Just over 50K CND). And here I thought GM was going to lower the price a bit. Oh well!

It doubles as a theft-deterrent device. If someone ever tried to carjack you from the driver'* window, you can spray your washer fluid and scald the attacker!

My great aunts ordered there 2006 Lucrene in June and it was just put in there car port last week. I think they have a cashmere with bench seat and shale interior and in the CXL trim level. (Its just a 3800 Series III). I will get a ride ((maybe drive)) someday, its the first Buick since the GNX i actually like!
