Newbie here,
Just wanted to say thanks to you all for these posts. I just took my 05 GXP to the dealer and had both fog lights and the steering intermediate shaft replaced. I mentioned the TSB'* for these items and there was no argument from them.
Hopefully the lights will last a while now.
Thanks again.

Actually,
I just got off the phone with the dealership and they told me that when they were replacing the lights they noticed the harnesses were burnt so they went ahead and replaced them as well.
Thanks again.

unbelieveable, didn't know cars came with "Warnings" U can use the lights but just know they aren't that reliabe!? wtf........ The car only Costs 34-6k geeze........
foglights aren't, but why doesn't the previous gen have this problem, I do however see a lot of Aurora'*, GA'*, and Montana'* with that problem ( a lot of people for some reason drive with the foglights on here)
was told that fog lights werent meant to be on all the time and perhaps use them less

I haven't had a problem yet, but I rarely use fog lights. I'll have to use them more often. I'd hate to have them burn out/up out of warranty in a few years.

I find there is usually a problem after the car is driven in wet conditions. I rarely use them either. But every once and a while I turn them on and one is burnt out. What frosts my *** is there is a potential fix to the problem yet GM wont fix it until they burn out again. I guess they think I have nothing better to do than take my car to the dealership.

I just got of the phone with the dealer and gave him the reference #'* provided by you guys and he ordered the lamps and harness, apparently they changed the lamp model as well as the harness. He told me the repair went thru on his computer. Found out the date my car was made but he couldnt break his info down into trim levels and colors (tried). Said it'* warranty covered but GM has'nt made a campaign or recall of it.... Just another great reason to belong to this club, and wonder wtf is GM thinking ( if problem can toast the lamp harness whats it doing to other wires along the same pathway?) THANKS!

BBGXP it'sbest to call dealer first and provide him with the TSB number in this post, the new wiring harness for the GXP has to be ordered. I did over two weeks ago and still waiting for mine, I call em up every other day<LOL> . Make sure they order the new bulbs also. It'* all on Mr. Goodwretch.
