Can someone with a 2005 GXP and a factory sunroof please look at the handle for the sliding shade and see if says "SolAire". I'm wondering if I have an aftermarket sunroof or a factory one.

I have a 2004 GXP and it does NOT say Solaire. Do you have your original paperwork ?(that paper they place on the windshield) It should tell you if it was sold with the sunroof. Mine is definetly factory.

I do not have ANY paperwork for this car. That'* what sucks. The price was just too good, I might be finding out why.
I wouldn't think Pontiac would let some subcontractor leave their name on a part that the factory installs. However the homelink/map light station where the sunroof button is located actually says "sunroof" stamped into the plastic next to the switch. That appears to be from the factory, which is why I didn't really question this before. I guess a shop could buy that piece from the dealer, maybe?

I would call any GM dealer and give them the V.I.N. number and they will be able to tell you if that car came with the sunroof.

The VIN is the key. It will tell you everything the car was manufactured with.

It may also have been a replacement for a leaking factory roof.

Take a picture and I'll compare with mine. Get a shot of the rail mechanism and I'll compare.

Good news, bad news
The decal does say CF5. I took the pictures and I'll try to post

That'* the good news. The bad news is the spare tire is underwater.
Damn. I think I saw threads about this problem somewhere before.

I posted pics before, rats, this isn't my day. Here we go.
