Venom,

I like the exhaust note on the GXP but would like to have it a little better. Any suggestions?

BTW, still pretty new to the club but have to say, Damn, that car of yours looks good. Keep up the great work.

DP, Thanx for the great compliment....I did this for two reasons. It'* proper protocol here in the club to respond to something different than the original topic in a post with a new thread ... especially if the question is aimed at someone other than the original poster. No biggy but this has been brought up on more than one occasion by the moderators here in the section. Daytona'* a nice guy and probably doesnt mind but lets keep the section on an even keel.

The system is so well refined, that I dont think upgrading to 3" pipes and a set of say Magnaflows or Flowmasters will get you much better sound. Below I out a link to a sound clip of a Chrysler 300 Hemi that just had Gibson stainless aftermarkets put on it and I think ours still sounds better and more aggressive. ( a link to my exhaust can be found in the In Motion section below the first one)

You could put Thrush or Cherry Bomb straight thru'* on for some in your face, window busting, aggressive rattle. LOL But it'* gonna sound more like a race car than a refined sport luxury car. It would also be a shame to dismantle a near new stainless system exhaust with a larger than norm cat, stainless pipe and two generous sized mufflers. True dual exhaust would probably open it up a little more but because of the underbody design they are going to hang in sight and impossible to install for me being slammed so low to the ground.

Wow you are the first person that was not okay with the factory GXP exhaust not. I like it alot as it is loud when you get on it but quiet at cruise. Anyway I may put some flowmasters in once mine start to rust out. I cant to cat back cause I still need to pass emissions in the first state.

Thanks venom. Actually shadow, I quite like the exhaust note. Especially at WOT. However, I have always been one that looked to change good to better and just thought about changing mufflers to match pre-production corsa'*.

Thanks y'all.

I love the stock "note" to the exhaust at all points on the tach, it is very pleasing. But it isn't "authoritative" enough. It lacks the deep mellow tone and rumble I like. With this car, I don't need uber loud like my GTO was with it'* longtube headers and SLP Loudmouth. Or my Camaro with G-Hann longtubes and ATR cat-back. I just want somethng along the lines of a Dyno-Max Super Turbo, two chamber system to compliment this engine'* crisp cam timing.

There is more to an exhaust note than sheer decibel level loudness.
