So they lowered compression to accomodate regular fuel. I can see that being a plus for sales.

They did the regular fuel in 2002 in the Devilles!

they can run on regular fuel but not optimally. The GXP performs pretty badly with regular. With premium it drives quite a bit better. My shortstar also only 'requires' 87 but it performs quite a bit better with 89+I'm curious if that'* why the GXP drives so bad in comparisons between it and the SSEi. If dealers are only putting in the 87 octane because that'* all they 'require' that'd make a big difference on your driving impression..

I know a few guys with Northstars in Caddys they claim the 91 barly made a difference!

Thats good news!
Do you think the 0-60 6.8sec changes a bit using premium fuel + filter ?

maybe the 6.8sec are using regular fuel
