Took my GXP in for service today and had them check for the coolant light... got a call late today that they are waiting on a part and won't have it repaired until Monday. Glad I have GMPP!!! I am out of town until Thursday so I'll let you all know the prognosis when I return. The service manager mentioned a leak but didn't say from or to where...

I've had my GXP for 7 months now. After 3 months, I got the Low Coolant warning and had to top off the coolant. The problem went away for 3 months and then came back. I added coolant again and haven't seen the problem since. I imagine, though, in 2 months, I'll probably see it again. Seems like it'* losing coolant somewhere, but it does not appear to be an external leak anywhere.

They found a leak on mine when I took it in for service. I was told that it was the coolant pipe on the back of the motor. They replaced the line and the therostat housing. The tech explained that because of the location it would only leak under pressure. That explains why I never saw a spot on the driveway or after parking. Just got it back Wednesday so I'll have to wait and see if it is fixed. May be worth a trip to the dealership... they said it was undriveable after I took it in but I think that was because they took it apart.

I believe the problem is with the sensor in the resivior tank which must be replaced as a unit. I think the seal on the sensor is leaking the coolant into the sensor which takes it out. My best guess so far.

At about 5000 miles my 04 GXP low coolant light came on. It seems to intermittently come on every few days. If I turn it off with the select button, then it stays off for a day or two and then comes on again. I tried to take off the resevoir cap to check the coolant and although I followed the instructions in the owners manual, I can't get my cap off to check coolant level. I plan on taking the car to the dealership in the next week or so to have them resolve the issue. The temperature gauge is still running in the same area as before (about 200), so I am not overly concerned, but think this should be checked out.
