Little off topic- But how bout this GP GXP?
Have any of you seen what the crazy bastards over at pontiac have done? I just went to the Auto Show today, and saw the new Grand Prix GXP. Now i thought from reading on here that they were putting the N* in this car. So i move around to the front and peek under the hood expecting to see the giant silver cover. All i see is a black cover with big "5300 V8" written on it. Are u SERIOUS? Gm is really putting the same motor in a GP as the did in the SSR truck? You've gotta be kidding me! Anyone else got thoughts on this? Looks like the original GXP has a little competition.

Most cars in the Pontiac line will eventually get the GXP badge. The Bonnie was just the first. The GP is not getting an N*. It is getting the 5.3 V8. The Monte and the Impala are also getting the V8.

No, its not the truck engine. The 5.3 is a decontented LS6 engine, retuned for 303 horsepower and for a front-drive application. The next Monte Carlo gets it too. The Bonnies, though , are still the champ.

The GP will beat the Bonnie in every category though it seems.

If the Bonnie GXP was made RWD, with ~330-350 HP it woulda been right up there with the 300c.
