Default Northstar V8 Spark Plug?*

Ok, first let me say that yes i did use the search button but the thread that was even close to what im looking for is 5 years old..... So

my GXP is going on 88k miles and i need to know what type of plugs you guys like and is running in your GXP! I have been looking at E3 and Pulsar plugs and want to know if anyone has ever used them in a GXP N* engine. The reviews i have read on the E3 is about 70% neg and 30% pos and on the Pulsar ($12.00) plugs all of the reviews i have read is about 95% pos and about 2 % neg and 3% is up on the wall about them....

GXP Venom would be the man to talk to about this
from what i understood from him its best to run the OEM ACDelco, they are double platinum plugs, and they are good for 100k miles from factory.

Ya with the bitch of a time to get the back 4, I'd stay with the OEM double clad plats. I believe the service interval for them is 100k. I wouldn't worry about it just yet unless the car is getting sluggish or MPG is beginning to decline. OEM is a proven long term plug. Not much to critique about that.

All of my SSEi'* have had Delco Iridiums, not Platinum, I have not done my GXP plugs yet but I'm curious, is this a typo or does the GXP really come with Platinums or are they Iridium?

No typo. GXP plugs are double clad plats. It'* a Caddy engine, not a Pontiac one.

Specifically these:

From GM:
ACDelco Professional Platinum Spark Plugs are ideal for engines that run on conventional plugs and newer engines that require platinum plugs. ACDelco Professional Platinum Spark Plugs can give you up to 100,000 miles of service before requiring replacement.

Professional Platinum spark plugs also feature:
  • Dual platinum tip for improved resistance to spark erosion, fouling, and corrosive combustion chamber environment.
  • A platinum center electrode and a platinum pad lower the ignition demand voltage.
  • One-piece integral suppressor seal helps reduce radio frequency interference, meters spark plug energy to help provide long electrode life, and seals against compression leakage.
  • Gap is preset, do not re-gap plug.
  • Designed with corrosion-resistant shell Spark gap remains virtually unchanged during the life of the plug.
If you do decide to use "other plug" remember the GXP is gapped @ .050
Important if you wander into a .060 gapped pug that is not adjustable.

If my new (to me) GXP is not showing any problems at 112k, should I just continue to go with what I got or would you just change them now to get it done sonce its over 100k.
